Chelsea are set to make their second signing ahead of the transfer window as they close in on RB Leipzig star Timo Werner.

The Blues, who have been tracking Werner's progress all season and have been looking to add a forward since January, having agreed a five-year-deal worth £200,000-a-week with the 24-year-old German international.

Werner was a top target for Premier League rivals Liverpool and has a release clause of £53million that expires on June 15, a week today.

With Liverpool choosing not to rival Chelsea in the battle despite being heavily linked in recent months, it seems likely that Werner will head to Stamford Bridge along with Hakim Ziyech, who will join on July 1 from Ajax.

Here are three possible setups assessing where Werner could fit in to Frank Lampard's side...

4-3-3

After much experimentation with his Chelsea side, Lampard has mostly settled on using the 4-3-3 with Chelsea this season.

Werner would have no trouble slotting into the formation as he has predominantly played as a wide forward for RB Leipzig under Julien Nagelsmann. However, he is also adept at operating more centrally alongside a central striker like Tammy Abraham - having partnered Youssef Poulsen in attack for the Bundesliga outfit.
