Marina Granovskaia told who to sign next for Chelsea after completing £53m transfer

Chelsea are set to make their second signing of the summer in the next few days.

The Blues have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig to sign striker Timo Werner in a £53million deal.

The German frontman will become head coach Frank Lampard’s second signing as Blues boss, following Hakim Ziyech to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, who is responsible for transfers at Stamford Bridge, are getting their business done early, before any of the other big six in the Premier League have made any moves.

And Chelsea have been linked with a number of other high-profile, big-money signings.

Jadon Sancho is chief among them, with a reported £120million price tag on his head, while the likes of Kai Havertz and left-backs Alex Tells, from Porto, and Leicester’s Ben Chilwell have also been linked with signing.

After completing two deals though, who would the Chelsea supporters like to see come through the door next?

We asked our readers at football.london for you to have your say in a social media poll on Twitter and you responded in your droves.

Nearly 3,000 of you took time to vote in our poll, which asked who out of Sancho, Havertz, Telles and Chilwell you would like the club to sign next.

And the message to Granovskaia is reasonably clear – Sancho is the one.

Almost one third of the 2,945 people who voted chose Sancho (31.8%) as the next transfer, but the left-back issue is clearly one that is a concern for a lot of people, as Chilwell came in second, taking 27.8% of the vote.

Perhaps surprisingly, given his form in the Bundesliga, Havertz took only 22.5% of the votes, with Telles coming in third with 17.9%.
