Zidane Provides Huge Hazard Updated Ahead Of Champions League Opened / Shakhtar Donetsk COach Criticise Real Madrid For Selling Ronaldo

As the Champions League approaches its opening fixture of the 2020/21 campaign, Zinedine Zidane has provided an update on Eden Hazard’s fitness.

Speaking ahead of the home clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, the news was not positive.

The Frenchman said, “Today he has stepped on the grass again, but his recovery is a little slower than expected. Hopefully he will come in soon and be with us all season.”

Real Madrid lost at home to Cadiz on Saturday and faced heavy criticism. Marcelo and Isco specifically. When asked about the scathing remarks made about his players Zidane supported them.

“We are all in the same boat. Criticism makes us all stronger,” he said. “What we can do is go back to work. There is a game every three days. We deserve the criticism, me first, but let’s go to try to change the dynamics in tomorrow’s game. There will always be criticism, even winning.”

Zidane also provided an injury update on Sergio Ramos who was substituted in the game against Cadiz.

“He has a problem and at the moment he has not trained with us. We do not want to risk anything. We will see if he will be there tomorrow, but today he has not been able to train normally.”

Castro’s criticism
Speaking with Spanish media, Shakhtar boss Luis Castro has questioned Los Blancos’ decision to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.

“When you have Cristiano on your team you should never let him go. Never,” said the fellow Portuguese coach.

“We are talking about the best, the most effective footballer in the world, a machine, a machine of sacrifice.”

Castro, clearly a huge fan of Ronaldo, continued to speak about the Los Blancos legend and why he feels he is such a titan of the game.

“He moved, at just 11 years of age, to Lisbon to be a footballer, leaving his home. Cristiano is someone that has risen alone, with a unique determination.”

“For me he is an example for all children. People criticise Ronaldo too much. ‘What if he does this, what if he spends so much money on this or that?’ Yet he responds on the pitch every game, being aware of where he comes from. ”
