Philadelphia's Brenden Aaronson will move to Salzburg Soon

Philadelphia Union midfielder Brenden Aaronson will join Salzburg following the finish of the Major League Soccer season.

The Union reported Friday that the 19-year-old marked an agreement through 2025 with the Austrian Bundesliga group. He will have the option to play for the club when the global exchange window opens in January.

"Playing in Europe has consistently been an aspect of my fantasy. I've had the option to achieve the initial segment of my fantasy, to play for my home city, and am so energized for this continuation of my excursion," Aaronson said in an announcement.

Aaronson's move is the first run through a local Union player has moved to an European club.
