Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich 'Eyeing' Italian Manager As Frank Lampard Replacement When Poor Performance Continue
The owner of Chelsea football club Roman Abramovich may have already identified a successor to current manager Frank Lampard.
If reports are anything to go by, Roman Abramovich is eyeing Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement should Frank Lampard be shown the exit door this season.
The Blues, who spent over £200 million on new signings in the just concluded summer transfer window has endured a difficult start to the 2020/2021 season.
The West London have played five games in the Premier League this season and have gained eight points.
Alongside that, the Blues were dumped out of the EFL Cup late last month and played out a 0-0 draw against Sevilla in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
And now according to reports from Italian outlet Quotidano Sportivo via Daily Star, the Chelsea owner 'wants to win' and will have no problem sacking Frank Lampard if he does not live up to expectations after a summer of spending.
Massimiliano Allegri has been out of work since he was sacked by Serie A giants Juventus aftee winning eight titles on the spin.
The Italian manager is ready to work and he could be on his way to replace Frank Lampard if the poor form continues.
