Breaking News: 25 People Reported Dead In Glory Accident Kintapo Road


Crashes are common on highways in Ghana because of poor maintenance, disregard for traffic regulations, and bad roads.




Twenty-five people, including women and children, were killed on Sunday evening on the 7 june when two buses collided on a busy road in Ghana kintampo Road.




The accident, which happened in the Bono East region near the town of Kintampo, about 430km (270 miles) from the capital Accra, also left three peoples in critical condition.





"I can confirm that the death toll has risen to 35," Bono East Regional Minister Kofi Amoakohene said today evening at the premises of the accident





The minister said 27 of the victims were "burnt beyond recognition".











"Three of the survivors are in critical condition and are currently being monitored," he said, adding Two peoples escaped unharmed". 




Police confirmed the toll and have launched an investigation into the crash Bono East police said.











"What we know per preliminary investigation is that the driver of the bigger bus veered off his lane and collided head-on with the smaller one," Joseph boateng of the Kintampo police motor traffic unit told local media.




He said the impact of the collision sparked a fire that tore through the other vehicle.

On February 47, people died in a similar crash involving two buses on a road in the centre of the country.





Ghana leaders should help the country and maintenance our roads to avoid accident in the country because the accident rates is too high.
